Best-selling Australian author Matt Rogers wanted to find a new way to connect with and build his audience. A podcast was the obvious solution.
We knew that Matt Rogers’ existing audience is super-engaged. And we also knew (thanks to Kindle’s highlight feature), which parts of Matt’s books really resonated with his audience.
So we created the Heroic Traits: A Best Selling Author’s Guide podcast to explore the meaning behind some of the big themes of Matt’s most recent action thriller, Be Somebody, as well as what drives Matt’s success as a writer. We put Matt together with host Billy Bentley, one of our trusted network of TV and radio presenters, hit record, and watched the magic happen. Ok, it was a little bit more complicated than that. Launching a podcast at a professional level takes some know-how.
The risk with a new podcast, is that it is new. You run the very real risk of just talking into the void. Which is why we had to design a powerful strategy to produce, distribute and market the podcast for maximum exposure.
We suggested videoing the podcast for YouTube as well as hosting it on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Linktree and Amazon. Video turned out to be a good call, with YouTube quickly generating the most views, subscribers and engagement.
The video version also provided us with lots of visual content that we could use for trailers and social media marketing across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Our marketing team kicked into gear, with 7 posts a week to get the ball rolling as well as media releases and landing pages. Our strategy resulted in getting 1000 views on our first episode clip.
Clearshot Digital has helped Matt Rogers connect with and expand his audience via a professionally-produced podcast. We’ve managed the entire production process, which includes pre-production, recording, editing, post-production, distribution and marketing. We’ve collaborated closely with Matt and host Billy Bentley to figure out what works, and how best to get Matt’s message out to the world.
While Matt’s first priority is his writing, ours is to ensure his podcast – Heroic Traits: A Best-Selling Author’s Guide – continues to connect with and grow his global audience.
